A Card Kit and Something Glittery ...

Hello !
I have this week's card kit ready as well as some samples I made using Elizabeth's Craft Designs Peel Offs, Glitter Ritz, and markers. Shall we take a look ?
CARD KIT OF THE WEEK :
This week's kit makes 3 cards , 2 regular size and one large.
The large gold is gold ( fancy, huh ?!) .
I included a kraft envelope to fit it because it is larger than the cards we usually make.
You get all the supplies to make all 3 for just $5.
Leave a comment or email me if you want any saved.

And if you love the little kraft bow
(and how could you not ? lol )
I have them available by the package for just $1.99.
And now for the samples ....
I watched the video by Elizabeth's Craft Design that demonstrates this technique & knew I had to try it. I'll include a link so you can watch it too. But basically you need the following ...
A Peel Off, a sheet of white cardstock, a sheet of clear 2 sided adhesive, clear Glitter Ritz in cool or warm tone.
and alcohol based markers.

Now I tried 3 different kinds of markers ... Sharpies, Copics, and Dollar store markers.
And ... THEY ALL WORKED !!!
I did like the Copics best because of the range of shades avavilable but really I was quite happy with them all.
So you could try this without any kind of big investment.
( and this week, you can get an egg peel off already glittered and ready to colour for just $2 ... I made a few extra !)
Work in progress ... see the mess ?!

The egg on the right is coloured with Sharpies and the one on the left is with Copics.
Both perfectly fine !

And here is the finished card ...

I did a bunch more while it was in the glittering mood ... you can get one for $2. Dig out your markers & colour , then cut it out and add it to a card !

I did a few other pieces too .. for a future project ... *wink*.
Here is the video link ...

Glitter & markers

Oh, I set up a tray like she uses in the video - perfect ! Kept glitter mess to a minimum !!

So that's it for tonight ! I'll be back later this week with new products. See you soon !

I love this smaller size !!

A FEW MORE  THINGS  ...

Great diecuts ...

Restocked ...
Glues !

Brilliance Inks
These inks have a lovely pearlized shimmer.
Still waiting for the Rocket Red.
And one of MY favourite things ...
 Watercolour pencils !
Are you familiar with them?  Let me explain in case you aren't.
The pencils are used to colour in stamped images or anything you want to colour - just like an ordinary coloured pencil. Too easy. THEN ... you wet a small paintbrush & go over the colouring. MAGIC HAPPENS !! The pencil becomes paint and it is already exactly where you wanted it !! Brush gently and all the pencil strokes blend and you have a fabulous watercoloured image. I find paint a bit tricky to control so these were an amazing invention when I discovered them ! lol.
Scroll down to the next post for this week's card kit and some samples I made this week.
So that's it for me this week ... more to unpack so there will be more new products next week.
Please note a change in hours this month too ... I will be closed Good Friday so I will open the next day (Saturday April 19th) from 10am to 12 noon.
Thanks & please drop in this week !

First Post of April !!

Hi everyone !
I have a new card kit this week and some samples to share, as well as new stock.
Let's get started !

Card Kit of the Week :
This week's card kit started off with the leafy background card. When I flipped the paper over to add the adhesive, I saw the bird's head. STOP CUTTING !!!!!!!!!!!!! I hadn't even looked at the back. SO I mapped out my cuts and was able to use all the most beautiful elements from the sheet for all 3 cards. The bird is the focal image of one card, a soft faded image of a bird, leaves, and a clock are the background for another, and the original card uses the B side of the paper for the leafy background. I also used some of the new kraft flowers that I just unpacked. Fun !  So ... as usual .. you get all the materials for all 3 cards for just $5.

 SAMPLES  ...
I had some time this afternoon to finally try out a technique I have been wanting to do as well as play around with some of the new Memory Box Dies & Stencils. Here's what I came up with ...

Shimmer Sheets - 3 ways !!
This is a technique from Elizabeth's Craft Designs using their iridescent Shimmer Sheets. They come in many colours but you must use the iridescent, not the metallic.
So you will need ...
Embossing folder, 2 sided adhesive sheets, cardstock, Glitter Ritz, and Shimmer sheets.

1. Cut the Shimmer Sheet to card size (4x5) and emboss it. Now add 2 sided adhesive to a piece of cardstock - plain white is best. Peel off the liner paper and add the embossed shimmer sheet. Brayer or rub down. Now carefully peel it off. The iridescent film will remain on the cardstock where the embossed design is. The remaining areas will remain sticky. Now pour on the glitter ritz, shake off extra, and burnish.
2. Repeat the procedure with the other side of the embossed Shimemr sheet. You will get the reverse of the first pattern.
3. And now you still have the original embossed piece of Shimmer sheet, no worse for wear !

Memory Box Stencils & Dies ...
These are the small stencils & they work beautifully for cards.
I simply dabbed on Distress Ink using makeup sponges. And Voila !
It looks like I handpainted the delphiniums !

The next project involved creating backgrounds using the larger stencils and adding a die cut image. The cards are all basically the same - I just used different Distress Inks and cardstock.

So that's it for tonight ... I'll be back late this week with new products !
