Yikes !!!

As soon as I closed Wednesday night, we started mapping out the next step of the renovation. Yesterday morning I started moving, lugging, clearing, . The building supplies arrived, shelves were moved, counters pushed out of the way ... aaaaand I realized ... there is no way I can get this all done in 7 days. I want to do a good job and have everything perfect (or as close as I normally get to that, lol ) . I want to have the time to put out loads of new stock and create a fun re-opening. So after freaking out inside a bit, I decided that I would extend the work by a week. Sorry for the delay but I think it will be worth it.
I am having a prize draw on Facebook for all those who help me spread the word. You can go there for the details but for those who aren't on Facebook, if you comment here, I will also put your name in for a draw for a $20 gift certificate.
I would appreciate it if you can tell your creative friends that the opening will be delayed until June 5th and I hope to see you all that day for a fun and fabulous day !!! But, for now, I have to go ... there are walls to move !! Take care. ♥

Emboss-O-Rama and a SALE !!!

Hi !
I spent an hour this weekend embossing ...  just trying different folders and different materials. I used chalk core paper, printed acetate, printed vellum, Tim Holtz's new metallic cards, glassine bags, penny candy bags, flat milinery bags, Bazzil's new mylar and foil papers, and tags. It is amazing what a simple embossing folder can add. Any of the metallic papers would make spectacular backgrounds for cards and the tags are beautiful. A simple manila tag can be the perfect accent on a card or layout or use it as a gift tag after it's been run through an embossing folder. I really feel that embossing folders are underused - in my creating anyway - and I am on a mission to make them feel special, lol.

The Tim Holtz metallic paper is wonderful. Actually, it's not really available as paper yet. It was supposed to be produced in 12x12 sheets but there were problems so it won't be. I have preordered 6x6 pads but haven't had an ETA for them yet. But, in the meantime, I do have the boxes of his cards. And if you cut the fold off, you get 2 pieces just the right size for cardmaking !! So that's what I did. In the box, you get 36 kraft envelopes as well as 36 cards - 12 silver, 12 copper, and 12 gold. Then if you cut them, you get 24 of each colour !! All for just $11.99. The papers emboss beautifully and would also be excellent for diecutting.

You can see all the samples and folders in the album linked below. I have all the folders and papers in stock right now . And did you know that I sell tags in all sorts of sizes as well as the glassine & paper bags ? I will have an expanded display of them after the renovations. Just click on the highlighted link.
(for some reason the link is weird ... so just click on the highlighted date and it will take you to the album. I don't have the thought process to figure that out today, lol. )

This weekend I embossed ... and could not stop !! I tried various folders and materials. There were some very fun...

And a few interesting things ...

Hi !
I just wanted to quickly share with you a few fun things. I'll be back later this week with another post. Paper, chicken coops, and embossing . That's today's theme. ;)
First ... nesting boxes  ... yes, really. LOL. My husband has these out at his feed store (behind me) to sell for chicken farmers but I freaked out when I saw them !! Oh so many possibilities !! I don't see chickens ... I see cubbies for yarn or fabrics ... or a towel holder in a rustic bathroom ... or a cool holder for crafting supplies ... so many possibilities. They are quite clean but I think it would still be good to give them a quick power wash or a scrubbing. Then you could use them as is, with a clear coat , or painted !! We are planning to do one up this weekend - I think it is going to be so nice !!
The unit measures 5 feet long and 32" high. The boxes themselves are 12" wide but the opening is smaller. The perches can be unbolted from inside. It can easily be screwed to the wall with the little tabs in the corners or could be set on a long table or shelf. I absolutely love them !! Only $40. I'll post pictures of the one we alter.

And paper ... I now have NEENAH paper. It is perhaps the favourite cardstock of paper crafters. If you watch You Tube videos and follow paper bloggers , I'm sure you've heard them mention Neenah Solar White cardstock. And I finally found some ! I have it in 2 weights - 80lb and 110 lb as well as several colours and finishes. It is perfect for cards, for stamping, and excellent for markers and other colouring. Click on the link below to see what is available.

IT'S HERE !!!! NEENAH CARDSTOCK and BULK ENVELOPES !If you watch any of the popular video bloggers, you have probably seen them rave about Neenah cardstock. Well I am now carrying it and it is lovely.

And, just before I go , a few photos of some embossing. I tried out all sorts of papers ... vellum, printed acetate, penny candy bags, glassine bags, paper millinery bags, Tim Holtz metallic cards (cut in 2 pieces so I could use the paper, lol) mylar from Bazzill, colour core papers, Bazzill foil board , tags ... you name it !!

Isn't it amazing what a little embossing will do for a plain tag ??
