Last Week Of August ...

Just posted a sale album on Facebook ... here's the link

So here it is ... the last week of August. Most of you are probably sad to see summer end while I am thinking "phew, made it through" ...lol. It's no secret that I hate (seems strong) really really dislike summer. While I will never wish a day away, it seems like something I have to put my head down and plow through. And here it is almost done !
I love this time of year. The weather gets nicer, we all sleep better with cooler nights, and it seems like time for new starts and new projects. More of a regular routine and getting more accomplished. Fall is coming and I am thrilled !! I have been eying my sweater and just waiting for the day I can put it on.
The blog posts this week have come in spurts as I have unpacked boxes. So I had new stamps two posts ago and the last post is all the loveliness I unpacked on Sunday. Great Christmas & Hallowe'en paper and stickers. So just scroll down to see all the wonderful new things. I am also expecting a few big boxes at the end of this week so that means more great stuff next week ! Exciting !!
Cup-O-Twine ! 25 yards of baker's twine - 5yds of 5 colours - $2.99.

Seam Binding Soup ! 10 yds (10 colours x 1yd each) for $2.99.

Hallowe'en Trims - ribbon & twine - $3.99.

I have not made a kit this week ... I expect that most people are thinking about long weekends and getting ready for September so I'll wait until next week. And I  had a minor flood here ... ugh ... that took up an unexpected day ! Let's just say that a dishwasher can spew out quite a lot of water when none of it goes down the drain ... but I found it before any damage was done and the boxes of paper that I stored in the lunch area escaped getting wet ... thank goodness !! The rug and other things , not so lucky ! Oh well.
So since I have covered what's new in the last two posts , I thought I would share a little bit of what will be happening in the next few weeks ... As you know, my new hours take effect next week. So starting September 1st I will be open the first & third Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8pm and then all Fridays from 10am to 5pm. ( I will figure out how to make a calendar and add it to the blog this week.) It starts this weekend with the BIG PURGE of all the junk behind the walls ... stuff you don't see but I trip over every day. lol. I need space !! Then I will get down to it ... The first week I will be spending the off days unpacking new stock , gathering up MORE SALE items, and making kits. The next week I will start rearranging the store and making room for a workshop area. I am on my way to the army surplus store tomorrow at 7am to pick out tables & chairs. Exciting - especially since I love army surplus !! And the next few weeks I will be unpacking more new product, making kits, but even more important - making samples for workshops and "Drop In and Make Something" events. I'll have a class schedule by the end of September. Happy happy happy !!
There will be several types of "classes" ... some will be workshops where I will have definite numbers of people that can attend and these will have to be registered for in advance. They will be more detailed projects. And then there will be "Drop in and Make Something" events where you can do just that ! It will be a simpler project and you can come anytime that evening or morning and make one until supplies run out. If you want to be sure you'll be able to make one, you can pay in advance and I will put aside a set of supplies for you. It will be more casual and something you can easily finish and take home in a short period of time. There will also be demos from time to time as well as opportunities to try new products. I think it will be fun !! I'll have more about this next week.
So I'm off to finish up pricing some new stock and then make up some packets of ribbon & twine. Hope to see you this week and wish you all a happy long weekend !
